Groups
Groups
Under the Administration Menu of the Other Main menu selection, the ability to set-up users and Group rights is controlled via the Users and Groups menu selection. The
Group selection offers you the adding and editing of Rights by Group. These Group rights are typically based upon whether you work within EH&S or you work at the
lab and or outside EH&S. A typical set of rights for a Principle Investigator would fall under a group named PI and Lab Managers. These rights will give an individual access
to his/her inventories, training records, inspection results, and worker and lab registrations. There are additional applications available depending upon the type of
work or research a particular person might be involved in. The Users rights allow for the administrator (ADMIN) to assign log-in and password (if you are not using
authentication) data along with the appropriate Group rights that an individual has access to. Also, the assignment of which particular PI and/or Manager that one has
rights to is part of the User setup. The Users and Groups are a very important beginning point for this application.
Add or Edit Users by selecting Groups from the Administration Menu under the [Other] Main Menu icon.

- This opens the Groups view screen as shown below. Click on the arrow to the left of the Group Name to open the permissions list.

- This will show the group permissions in a grid view. Highlight a row and double-click or click [Edit] to view details and open for editing.

- The Group Permissions details will be displayed in a outline format for quick viewing and editing. Check a feature/screen to allow users in the group to view,
or uncheck the item to exclude from the Group rights. An example of a set of Group Rights might include access to only the Waste applications. Typically,
the individuals responsible for the pickup, review, and processing of waste may only require access to the waste module. Simply set up a Group labeled
Waste and assign rights to only the Waste applications. Once the group has been setup, assign the Waste Group to the User. Thats it.

- Scroll through the list and/or Expand/Collapse the the view to make changes as needed.
- Use the [Load EHSA] or [Load PI] buttons to load typical EHSA or PI setting. Click [Clear All] to clear all permissions (uncheck all).
- Click [Save] to save changes, or [Cancel] to discard any edits.
